AC Taber is a hard red spring wheat cultivar that has had long-lasting resistance to the leaf rust fungus Puccinia triticina. The objective of this study was determine chromosome location genes in Taber. rust-susceptible Thatcher crossed with develop an F 6 recombinant inbred line (RIL) population. RILs and parents were evaluated for segregation five field plot tests two seedling race BBBDB P. A genetic map RIL population developed using 90,000 single nucleotide polymorphism markers Illumina Infinium iSelect 90K bead array. Quantitative trait loci (QTLs) significant effects lower severity found on chromosomes 2BS 3BS. same QTLs also infection type seedlings BBBDB. gene adult plant Lr13, 3BS mapped region as Lr74 other resistance. Kompetitive allele-specific PCR assay linked regions should be useful marker-based selection these genes.
